Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Minister-Designate for Roads and Highways, has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for neglecting road maintenance over the past eight years, leading to the deterioration of the country's existing road infrastructure.

During his vetting on Monday, January 20, Agbodza argued that maintaining the nation's current roads should take precedence over constructing new ones.

He noted that road maintenance under the NPP administration has significantly declined, with records from previous years reflecting far better efforts.

The Adaklu MP highlighted the contrast in the numbers, pointing out that in 2016, the country successfully maintained 9,000 kilometres of roads, while by 2023, only 3,000 kilometres were maintained under the current government.
