Gender activist and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Bureau, Shamima Muslim, has highlighted that President John Dramani Mahama is on track to fulfil his pledge of appointing 60 ministers.
Speaking on JoyNews' Newsfile, she emphasised that President Mahama is committed to establishing a government that reflects Ghana's diversity, with a particular focus on gender equality, youth involvement, and experienced leadership.
Shamima Muslim pointed out that one of the key elements of President Mahama's pledge is ensuring that at least 30% of ministerial positions are occupied by women.
Currently, 28% of the cabinet positions have been filled by women, which she regarded as a significant achievement. "It's not shabby at all," she said, expressing confidence that the percentage will continue to rise as more appointments are made, particularly in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and other critical government agencies.
