Savannah Regional Minister Designate, Lawyer Salisu Be-Awuribe has paid a courtesy call to the overlord of Gonja Traditional Council, Yagbonwura Bikunuto Jewu Soale I following his nomination as the regional minister Designate of the land.

He underscored the numerous challenges in the savannah region while emphasising that the principal purpose for which the region was created has not been realized.

According to Be-Awuribe, residents of the Savannah Region are uninterested in name change but in development which the previous government failed them. "It's a demanding task on me that if I get the approval from the committee and appointed by the President John Dramani Mahama, I will come and lay a lasting legacy in terms of development in the Savannah region," he reiterated.

Yagbonwura Bikunuto Jewu Soale I presented a traditional skin as a symbol of the truthfulness and trustworthiness of his work.
