The Electoral Commission (EC) has accused the Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Nukpenu of leading some party supporters to invade the commission's new corporate head office premises.
This comes as the EC was expected to collate outstanding parliamentary results of the Ablekuma North constituency.
In a statement issued on Friday, January 17, the EC revealed that the police per the intelligence available to them had suggested that the collation of the Ablekuma North results expected to take place be put on hold.
The EC posits that the police, however, did not augment security at the premises of the collation centre (old head office) and the new corporate head office leading to some party supporters invading the old head office of the commission and destroying the property of the commission including furniture and louvre blades.
