Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by President Nana Akufo-Addo, of demolishing his eight-bedroom house in 2017 based on what he describes as "mere suspicion." Speaking on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana program, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP detailed his ordeal while defending the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government's ongoing Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.

ORAL is a program aimed at gathering information on state assets allegedly acquired unlawfully by individuals or organisations, as well as on allegations of corruption.

Dafeamekpor recounted that he had legally acquired land from chiefs in Adentan, fully registered it, and built a house using his savings as a young lawyer.

"They came one dawn, supported by police and military, and razed it down under the pretext that it was state land," the MP lamented. "We've been in court since, for eight years, and they can't prove their case.
