Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, has pledged to conduct a comprehensive review of Ghana's 1992 constitution if elected president in the upcoming December polls. This review, he explained, is crucial for achieving effective national development and enhancing good governance. To ensure a collaborative approach, Dr Bawumia promised to engage with Parliament, stakeholders, and political parties in the review process, to strengthen the country's governance structure. He also vowed to reform the Chieftaincy Act, specifically Section 63, to empower chiefs and traditional leaders in local governance.
