A group of thugs, believed to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have ransacked the collation centre at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The attack occurred just as the commission was preparing to resume the collation of parliamentary election results for the Ablekuma North constituency.
As the media and election observers waited for the process to begin Friday morning, more than 40 individuals entered the collation centre, forcing everyone out and causing significant damage to the premises.
The assailants destroyed properties, including louvre blades and doors, leaving the centre in disarray.
