A section of the public in Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital, has welcomed the nomination of Charity Gardiner as the Ahafo Regional Minister-designate, describing her choice as the best for the region at this time.
Gardiner is the Ahafo Regional Women's Organizer of the (NDC).
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Goaso, residents, including political figures, commended President Mahama for selecting the nominee, saying the decision reflected the President's commitment to appointing more women to leadership positions.
With Gardiner's nomination, the residents expressed optimism that more women would also be appointed to serve as Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region.
