Emmanuel Cherry, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chamber of Construction Industry, has urged the Minister designate for Roads and Highways Ministry Governs Agbodza to remain open to collaboration with private sector players if approved.

In an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Thursday January 16, Cherry emphasised the importance of engaging with various associations and private sector entities to ensure success. "He must not distance himself from the private sector players.

If that happens I am telling you he's not going to succeed but if he wants to succeed he should try as much as possible to open his doors to private sector players especially the various associations," Cherry stated.

He also urged the minister designate to prioritise uncapping the Road Fund to ensure sufficient financing for road infrastructure projects. "The challenge currently bedeviling the entire sector is about the road fund board itself which is not functioning properly.
