Rockson Dafeamekpor has defended the establishment of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) as a crucial measure to fulfil the government's mandate of accountability.
The MP for South Dayi stressed that ORAL is a policy designed to recover state resources unlawfully appropriated, a promise central to President Mahama's electoral campaign in an interview on Good Morning Ghana monitored by MyNewsGH. "President Mahama made it clear that if given the mandate, he would ensure all looted state properties are reclaimed.
This resonated deeply with the electorate and contributed significantly to his victory," Dafeamekpor stated.
He acknowledged concerns about the duplication of roles with existing institutions but argued that ORAL complements their efforts, particularly during the transitional period when new appointees have not fully assumed office.
