Investigative journalist and businessman Raymond Archer, during an interview with Umaru Sanda on Channel One TV, shared insights into his journey in journalism, particularly his focus on political reporting.

Reflecting on his career, Archer emphasized his commitment to holding governments accountable while educating and engaging the public. "My interest was primarily in political reporting.

I majored in it at the School of Journalism and was even recognized as the best student during my practical attachment," he remarked.

He highlighted his work at The Chronicle during the latter part of Jerry Rawlings' presidency, a period when the publication was famously critical of the administration. "We were labelled the 'G-press' by Rawlings, as The Chronicle often found itself at odds with the government." Archer recounted the newsroom's ethos, which encouraged journalistic freedom and provided the resources necessary for impactful reporting.
