A policeman, accompanied by three Community Police Assistants (CPAs), were on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, subjected to severe beatings in an attempt to arrest a suspect at Akrofuom near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The security officers sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Obuasi Government Hospital, with one officer reportedly in critical condition.
According to information gathered by MyNewsGh.com, a 62-year-old man had earlier reported a case of threat of harm by the suspect, identified as Sibuba, to the police.
The complainant was leading the officers to the suspect's residence near the District Chief Executive's (DCE's) bungalow.
