The Minority in Parliament has raised concerns about the shift in stance of the energy minister nominee, , on private sector participation in the activities of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), as reported by citinewsroom.com.
According to the Minority, there has been a dramatic shift in the position of the Minister of Energy-designate. "The nominee's position on private sector participation in the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has also shifted dramatically," they stated.
According to the report, the Minority raised these concerns during a press briefing on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The Minority further pointed out inconsistencies in John Jinapor's approach to managing ECG, a critical body company in the energy sector.
