A 2024 study by Rivia, a network of tech-driven primary care clinics, has highlighted a concerning rise in "silent" killer diseases in Ghana, posing significant challenges to individuals and the healthcare system.

The report revealed that over 80% of individuals aged 27-62, sampled from 23,000 patients, are hypertensive, with men showing a 68% prevalence.

Additionally, 50% of a sample population of 80,000 had undiagnosed or poorly managed diabetes.

Lifestyle factors, including high-salt diets, excessive alcohol consumption, and stimulant misuse, were cited as key contributors to the rise in kidney disease, which now affects 23% of younger populations.
