The Supreme Court is set to hear the National Democratic Congress case seeking to overturn a High Court order that directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate outstanding parliamentary election results on Tuesday, January 23, 2025.

The High Court presided over by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong, granted a mandamus application on Saturday, January 4, filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

This ruling instructed the EC to complete the collation of results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North constituencies and declare the winners.

Speaking to Channel One News, Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer, Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, explained that the party's earlier suit to halt the collation exercise was adjourned indefinitely because the NPP had not been properly served. "We went to court on Monday, and the judge indicated the NPP candidates were not properly served, and therefore the bailiff and our lawyers must find means of serving them so that the matter can be heard properly.
