Samuel Awuku has officially resigned from his position as Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) following his recent election as the Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North constituency.
In a letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama and dated January 13, 2025, Awuku expressed his intention to focus fully on his parliamentary responsibilities.
Awuku, who was appointed as the Director-General of the NLA in August 2021, stated that his resignation takes immediate effect and requested that a suitable replacement be appointed to ensure a smooth transition. "I have been elected as the Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North constituency and have been duly sworn in to represent my constituents.
In the light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament," Awuku wrote in the letter.
