The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Samuel Awuku, has officially resigned from his position, effective immediately.
In a formal letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, dated January 13, Awuku cited his recent election as the Member of Parliament for the Akwapim North constituency as the primary reason for his resignation.
Awuku, who was appointed as the Director General of the NLA in August 2021 and confirmed by the Public Services Commission in July 2022, expressed his commitment to focusing on his new responsibilities as a Member of Parliament. "In light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament," he stated in his resignation letter.
He also requested the President to appoint a replacement for the position of Director General to ensure a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities.
