Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the chairman of the government's Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), has disclosed that threats against him have become a daily occurrence since the launch of the initiative. However, the lawmaker remains undeterred in his commitment to tackling corruption and recovering stolen state assets.Speaking to Blessed Sogah on Joy News' PM Express on Monday, January 13, Ablakwa shared his resolve despite the challenges. "Threats have become a daily feature, but we have tough skin, and we know the Good Lord will protect us," he stated.
He added, "I have been subjected to a lot of propaganda, fake news, and people just trying to demonise me.
We remain unaffected; we are resolute and focused." ORAL, spearheaded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, aims to identify, investigate, and recover assets allegedly stolen during the tenure of the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
The allegations include the misappropriation of state lands, vehicles, revenues, and questionable contract deals.
