Matthew Opoku Prempeh has stated that the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) recent electoral defeat is deeply rooted in governance challenges rather than economic mismanagement.
Widely known as Napo, the former Energy Minister dismissed the notion that economic hardship was the driving force behind voter apathy and loss of support. "The election results are not reflective of economic mismanagement," NAPO stated in an interview with Channel One TV.
He explained that in countries where voters hold governments accountable for poor economic conditions, citizens typically vote en masse for the opposition. "In Ghana, however, voter apathy was the significant factor.
