President John Dramani Mahama has announced that his administration will comply with CHRAJ's directive to audit the National Cathedral project and investigate any potential misuse of public funds.

The National Cathedral project, initiated under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been marred by allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement, raising public concerns about its funding and execution.

Speaking on the matter during the Christian National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday, 12 January 2025, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), President Mahama reiterated his government's commitment to transparency and accountability. "On the vexed issue of the National Cathedral, CHRAJ directed the government to audit the project and investigate any misuse of public funds.

We will soon activate an investigation into the project," he stated.
