Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), has demanded an immediate retraction and apology from Martin Kpebu, a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, over allegations that he agreed to return a parcel of state-owned land to halt further action against him.
In a statement issued by Quaicoe's legal representatives, the claims made by Kpebu during his appearance on TV3's "Keypoints" show were categorically denied and described as "contrived, false, and without any basis." The statement further criticized the subsequent republication of the allegations by various media outlets, emphasizing that Quaicoe has never engaged with the ORAL Committee or any of its members regarding any state-owned land.
It reiterated that the Director-General has no illegally acquired property and described the allegations as defamatory.
Quaicoe's legal team called on Martin Kpebu to retract his statements and issue a public apology, warning of potential legal action to defend their client's reputation. "We act for Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau.
