President , in his bid to revamp the public sector, has scrapped some ministries and reduced them from 30 to 23.

While some ministries have been totally scrapped, others have been merged with related bodies to ensure their functions are still performed, helping the government deliver its mandate.

This step fulfills President John Mahama's promise to minimize the number of ministries if elected president.

Here are the seven ministries that have been scrapped or merged: Ministry of Information: This ministry no longer exists, as its functions will be performed by the Ministry of Communication.
