Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged President to collaborate with him in addressing the urgent issues of youth unemployment, poverty, and instability in the West African sub-region.

He noted that one of the main challenges in the sub-region is instability and insurgency, which are worsened by the high rate of coups in some West African nations.

Speaking at the presidential inauguration on January 7, 2024, Tinubu encouraged Mahama to use his presidency to strengthen relationships between Ghana, Nigeria, and the wider West African region. "I am confident that the new government led by President Mahama will partner with Nigeria to enhance our ties, leading to greater shared progress and prosperity for our people.

I have no doubt that your administration will bring about positive change and progress. "With a sharp focus, we can address our people's most critical issues: poverty, youth unemployment, instability, insurgency, and other obstacles to our advancement.
