The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Lawyer Sulley Sambian, has strongly refuted claims of land encroachment involving the authority's 1.2-acre property, maintaining that the land remains fully intact and under the NDA's control.
Speaking on Citi FM's Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Lawyer Sambian sought to clarify the allegations of unauthorized developments on the property. "There is no such encroachment on our land in the sense that what the Lands Commission offered us was 1.2 acres," he asserted. "We have paid the premium on the 1.2-acre land, and we have that land intact.
As to why there is another person on the land, it is a matter for the Lands Commission and not us." Reports of a fence wall being erected by unidentified individuals on the premises have raised suspicions of land misuse or unauthorized sales, concerns further amplified by internal accusations.
According to a report by Citi FM, the Director of Infrastructure at the NDA alleged that a woman had requested a portion of the land following the elections and later permitted the construction of a wall. "When I heard about the wall being erected, I wasn't even the first person to inform the officers to stop," Lawyer Sambian explained. "I asked them to ensure that there was no encroachment on our lands.
