Some residents of Tumu in the Sissala East Constituency of the Upper West Region have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to commit to recovering all alleged looted state funds, which could be used to create jobs for the youth.

They stated that if such funds and other captured state assets were retrieved, and the culprits punished, it would serve as a deterrent to other officeholders, discouraging them from engaging in corrupt practices.

The residents made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tumu on Friday, expressing their expectations for the President's tenure to ensure good governance for Ghanaians.

Bashiru Gomina, a teacher, called for accountability in governance, saying: "The only thing I expect him to do is to investigate and prosecute all officeholders who looted public funds." Gomina's remarks reflect a strong public demand for transparency and justice in tackling corruption, which has been a major issue in Ghanaian politics.
