The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) has urged President to ensure the representation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in government appointments.

The inclusion of PWDs in government is a critical step toward advancing Ghana's commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), which Ghana ratified in 2012.

It also aligns with the principles of equality and non-discrimination enshrined in Ghana's 1992 Constitution.

Despite these commitments, PWDs remain significantly underrepresented in leadership and decision-making roles, the GSPD said in a statement.
