Each member of the Black Satellites squad that won the 2009 U-20 FIFA World Cup is set to receive 60,000 Ghana cedis, the matured value of a 10,000 Ghana cedis investment made on their behalf by the government.
After their historic win, then-President John Evans Atta Mills initiated a 15-year investment plan, setting aside 10,000 Ghana cedis for each player.
SAS Finance Group, the investment firm, has confirmed the maturity of the funds and notified the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to inform the players.
Some players have already collected their cheques, while those who haven't can claim theirs by presenting their Ghana Cards, according to a GFA communiqué.
