Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in Mecca with his wife and some friends to thank Allah for his grace.
A post on social media announcing the pilgrimage said he also used the opportunity to pray for the country, seeking guidance and protection.
His post announcing the pilgrimage read, "Together with Hajia Samira Bawumia and some friends, I arrived in Mecca yesterday to perform Umrah (Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca).
This is to thank the Almighty Allah for His grace.
