President John Dramani Mahama has pledged his administration's commitment to resolving Ghana's energy challenges and preventing a resurgence of "dumsor," the term commonly used to describe frequent power outages.   Speaking at the National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana on Thursday, January 9, 2025, the first gentleman of the land acknowledged the critical energy issues facing the country and emphasized the government's resolve to tackle them."We are assuming office at a critical time in our nation's history.

Ghana is faced with significant challenges.

But that is exactly the reason why you elected us," the President stated. "We will transparently let you understand what those challenges are and we will take responsibility for solving them." The President revealed that the energy sector is grappling with insufficient fuel supplies for power generation, posing a potential risk of power outages.

However, he reassured Ghanaians of his administration's ability to address the situation. "There is a threat of power outages, but my brothers and sisters, don't despair.
