The Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools (CHASS) has issued a plea to parents, urging them to supplement food supplies for their children attending senior high schools.
This call comes amidst ongoing financial challenges facing the Free SHS program, including delayed government payments for food supplies.
Despite earlier calls by CHASS to postpone school reopening due to these financial constraints, schools resumed operations.
However, Primus Baro, the National Secretary of CHASS, in an interview with Joy News has revealed that the situation remains dire with many institutions facing severe food shortages. "Food supplies are critically low in many schools," Baro told JoyNews. "In some regions, like the Upper West, Upper East, and Northern regions, the situation is particularly severe.
