Retired senior police officer, ACP Benjamin Agordzo, has launched a scathing attack on Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, for taking on the task of directing traffic during President 's investiture.

On January 7, 2025, to demonstrate his leadership, Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, exited his vehicle while en route to the inauguration ceremony at Black Star Square to assist with traffic management, despite having already deployed personnel for that task.

While Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare's actions have earned praise and admiration from certain segments of the public, critics, notably the Forum for Development and Accountable Governance (FDAG), have condemned the act, describing it as a 'shameful display' and a self-serving 'public stunt'. "This disgraceful episode is not only an attempt to court public favour but also a poorly disguised effort to launch a reappointment campaign for himself.

Instead of focusing on the critical task of securing the nation and addressing the escalating crime rates under his watch, the IGP has sunk to the depths of political opportunism, using a national event to further his own self-serving agenda. "The populist attempt through cheap, staged performances is nothing but a desperate and futile effort to conceal his complete failure.
