Funke Akindele's latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, has made history as the highest-grossing Nigerian film of all time, grossing over ₦1.466 billion since its release on December 13, 2024.
The film surpassed Akindele's previous record set by A Tribe Called Judah (2023), which earned ₦1.404 billion.
It broke several records, including the highest opening day gross for a Nollywood film with over ₦40 million, and reached ₦1 billion in just 19 days, making it the fastest Nollywood film to achieve this milestone.
In addition to its domestic success, the film earned $100,000 during its opening week in cinemas across the diaspora, marking the largest opening weekend for a Nollywood film outside Africa.
