The National Peace Council of Ghana has announced that the various political parties in the country have committed to a peaceful campaign ahead of the 2024 general elections. This comes after the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, stated that they would not sign the 2024 Peace Pact. Contrary to Nketia's statement, documents released by the Peace Council in a Facebook post indicate that all political parties, including the NDC, have indeed signed and committed themselves to a peaceful campaign. The political parties met with the National Peace Council on July 3, at the Oak Plaza Hotel, at the instance of the Peace Council. The NDC was represented by Abraham Amaliba, Director of Conflict Resolution, while the NPP was represented by William Yamoah, Director of Finance and Administration.
