In a much-anticipated and historic inauguration ceremony, John Dramani Mahama was sworn in for a second term as president of Ghana yesterday, January 7 2025, marking a historic occasion.

With politicians from all around the continent and beyond in attendance, the event, which took place in Accra, was hailed as a celebration of democracy and stability in Africa.

However, worries over an alleged security breach involving Ibrahim Traoré, the president of Burkina Faso, have cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a day of victory and solidarity.
