The Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, Bernard Ahiafor, has been elected as the 1st Deputy Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
His election followed a nomination by the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Governs Kwame Agbodza, with the motion seconded by the Deputy Minority Leader, Patricia Appiagyei. "With there being no other nomination, I declare Mr Bernard Ahiafor duly elected as the 1st Deputy Speaker of the 9th Parliament," Speaker Alban Bagbin announced.
