Alban Sumana Bagbin has been elected as the Speaker of the 9th Parliament of Ghana.
The motion to make him the speaker was mooted by the Majority Leader of Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson, PhD.
The motion was seconded by the minority leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin, who expressed reservation about the president-elect's decision to mandate the leadership of his party in Parliament to nominate Alban Bagbin.
