The Koforidua High Court has upheld an injunction application restraining Ernest Kumi, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Akwatia, from assuming the position of Member of Parliament-elect for the constituency.
This ruling effectively prevents the Clerk of Parliament from swearing in Kumi as the MP for Akwatia.
The decision has significant political implications, particularly concerning the composition of the incoming Parliament.
The court presided over by His Worship Justice Senyo Amedahe, convened on Sunday, January 5, to hear a challenge from Kumi's legal team, who had contested an earlier injunction issued by the same court.
