Outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will present his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament today, Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
The address, mandated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, provides the President with an opportunity to report on the nation's status before leaving office.
This event also marks the final session of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic, which will be officially dissolved on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Following its dissolution, the 9th Parliament will convene at 11:00 PM the same day to elect a Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.
