The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has called for the approval of revised salaries and allowances for its members as a matter of urgency.

National President of the Association, Joseph Afotey Otu, in a statement signed on December 31, 2024, indicated that the Judicial Council has concluded its review of the salary and allowance structure and accordingly submitted recommendations to the President for approval in line with Article 149 of the Constitution.

Afotey Otu however noted with concern the delays in the process, prompting the National Executive Council of JUSAG to petition Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo to expedite the approval process. "As of yesterday [December 30], the official feedback on the matter is that the recommendation of the Judicial Council is receiving the highest attention of His Excellency, the President of Ghana.

The reports have been referred to the Minister of Finance for an update on the status of the request," portions of the statement read.
