The Planning Committee for the dissolution of the 8th Parliament and the inauguration of the 9th Parliament has assured the public of a smooth and peaceful transition process.
The 8th Parliament will be officially dissolved on midnight, Monday, January 6, 2025, with the elected Members of the 9th Parliament expected to convene at 11:00PM to elect a Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.
Deputy Coordinator for the Dissolution and Inauguration Committee and Deputy Clerk of Parliament, Camillo Pwamang in an interaction with the media, emphasized the importance of this transition. "This forthcoming transition is yet another milestone in this proud tradition, and we are determined to shepherd it seamlessly with the highest regard for constitutional and procedural propriety," he stated.
Pwamang further noted the need for collaboration and national unity during this crucial period. "This period of transition should be one of solemn responsibility and collaborative effort.
