Several heaps of harvested maize on a 75-hector farm belonging to the Savannah Regional Minister, Saeed Muhazu Jibril, has been destroyed by fire.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday January 1, is believed to have been caused by a suspected arsonist.
According to the Minister, he received a call from some farmers alerting him of the incident.
He quickly moved to the farm and saw the heaps of harvested maize in flames.
