Ghana's fashion scene is abuzz as stylist and critic Charlie Dior engages in a public dispute with actress and fashion icon Nana Akua Addo, each asserting their dominance in the industry.
The tension escalated when Charlie Dior criticized Nana Akua Addo for consistently avoiding red carpet appearances at major events, opting instead to share heavily edited photos on social media.
He expressed his concerns, stating, "Not showing up on the red carpet but submitting photos is a big slap in the face to many people, including myself." Dior further emphasized the importance of celebrities attending red carpet events for visibility and cultural significance, suggesting that Nana Akua Addo's absence undermines the essence of such occasions.
He remarked, "She needs to be there and stop being lazy because that's what it looks like-it's giving very much laziness." In response, Nana Akua Addo defended her approach, highlighting her contributions to Ghana's fashion industry and questioning Dior's authority to critique her choices.
