Former Vice-President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie, has expressed strong opposition to any attempt for GFA President Kurt Okraku to seek a third term in office.

Afriyie, who lost to Okraku in the 2019 elections and was disqualified from the 2023 presidential race, has vowed to petition the government should Okraku attempt to amend the GFA statutes to enable a third term.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Afriyie said, "You've won, you are ruling, you are the President of the FA, things are not going on well, that is not my fault." According to Afriyie, he is willing to help Okraku succeed but insisted that any attempt to amend the statutes for a third term should be rejected.
