The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr.
Ernest Addison, has revealed that upon his appointment in 2017, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) identified the crisis within Ghana's banking sector as the country's most urgent issue.
Dr.
Addison elaborated on the IMF's strong recommendation for immediate and decisive actions to stabilize the sector, which was on the brink of collapse at the time. "This was a banking sector that was in a near state of collapse.
