President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed deep sadness over the devastating fire that ravaged the Kantamanto market in Greater Accra, leaving hundreds of traders in distress.

The fire, which occurred in the early hours of January 1, 2025, destroyed several stalls and shops, causing significant losses for many of the affected traders.

In his final State of the Nation Address on January 3, President Akufo-Addo conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the traders, acknowledging the heavy impact of the fire on their livelihoods.

The President assured the traders that the government would extend the necessary support to help them recover and rebuild their businesses in the wake of the tragedy.
