The Koforidua High Court has issued an injunction preventing Ernest Kumi from being sworn in as the Member of Parliament (MP)-elect for the Akwatia constituency, as reported by citinewsroom.com.
This ruling comes in response to a lawsuit filed by Henry Boakye Yiadom, the (NDC) parliamentary candidate, against the (EC), Ernest Kumi, and the Clerk of Parliament.
Yiadom's legal action seeks to delay Ernest Kumi's swearing-in until the case is resolved.
The Akwatia constituency was among the contested seats in the 2024 general election, with the results re-collated and declared by the EC at the National Police Training School in Tesano.
