A member of the (NPP) communications team, Ellen Ama Daaku, has stated that one of President Nana Akufo-Addo's greatest legacies is his investment in the Free SHS policy.

Speaking on TV3 on January 2, 2025, she explained that the Free Senior High School Programme introduced by the NPP government had brought a lot of hope to Ghanaians. "One of the things that the President would be noted for would be education and through his ministers of education," she said.

Also recognising the role of Akufo-Addo's appointees in making the Free SHS policy successful, Ellen Daaku emphasised the pivotal role played by former Minister of Education, Dr.

Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), in advocating for the establishment of the programme.
