The Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Benjamin Kessie, has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the Agona Nkwanta to Tarkwa road, a key project under the NPP's 2020 manifesto. Despite missing the August 31 deadline, the contractor has achieved significant progress, with the road now 89% complete. The project, funded by a €95 million facility from Deutsche Bank AG Frankfurt, Germany, was launched by President Akufo-Addo on September 3, 2021. The 67-kilometer road will connect Tarkwa, a major economic hub, to the port city of Takoradi and the national route N1, linking Ghana to Cote D'Ivoire. While the NPP's 2020 manifesto promises, such as the gold refinery and Gold Museum, are yet to be fulfilled, the ongoing road reconstruction is a notable achievement.
