The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has accused McDan Company Limited of developing lands under litigation and constructing commercial buildings on them.

According to GACL, despite the ongoing legal dispute since 2015, McDan has been earning rental income from these properties without fulfilling his obligation to pay the required ground rent.

In a statement issued on December 31, GACL said, "It is also worthy to note that while McDan intimates that some of the lands acquired from Ghana Airports Company Limited as far back as 2015 are under litigation and therefore is requesting GACL to hold on with the collection of payments, McDan Company Limited has developed same lands with commercial buildings situated on it and benefiting from rental proceeds on the built properties without paying ground rent to GACL." The management of the Ghana Airports Company Limited also provided a detailed breakdown of the over $3 million owed by McDan Aviation, following the latter's denial of the claim.

The management of the Airports Company Limited, on December 30, shut down the McDan Aviation Private Jet Terminal due to an outstanding debt of over $3 million.
