The dissolution of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic is scheduled for Monday, January 6, 2025.
On that same day, the 9th Parliament will reconvene at 11:00 PM to conduct the election of a new Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.
A statement issued by the Parliamentary Service, on December 30, said the Speaker-elect along with the newly elected members will take their oaths of office at midnight.
Prior to the dissolution of the 8th Parliament, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to present the State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Friday, January 3, 2025.
